The Office of the Vice President and General Counsel (OGC) provides legal counsel, representation, and oversight of work on the wide range of legal matters affecting Yale University and its component organizations. Under the leadership of Vice President and General Counsel Dorothy K. Robinson, professional attorneys advise administrators and faculty on legal and regulatory questions related to Yale’s activities, including transactional matters, dispute resolution, and policy formulation. They also represent the interests of the University in administrative and judicial proceedings. Outside counsel may be engaged by OGC to provide additional expertise and representation when appropriate (other University offices are not authorized to retain outside attorneys on behalf of the University).
