Intellectual Property

The attorneys in the Intellectual Property practice area are responsible for matters related to the University's intellectual property rights and assets, including protecting and enforcing University trademarks and copyrights, and advise on the licensing and acquisition of third-party content. In addition to providing advice and counseling on intellectual property matters including but not limited to infringement, fair use, digitization, publishing, internet and privacy, these attorneys draft and negotiate contracts and licenses impacting University intellectual property rights.   Matters involving patents are handled by the attorneys in the Research and Technology Transfer practice area with the assistance of outside counsel as necessary.
