Rich Jacob is the University’s principal liaison with Congress and Executive branch agencies on legislative and regulatory matters affecting Yale. Faculty and staff who have questions or concerns about pending issues, who wish to bring an issue to the attention of the Administration, or who have been invited to give testimony should contact him. He has been at Yale since January, 1995; previously he had been the special assistant to the Dean of the Stanford University School of Medicine and an analyst and branch chief in the White House Office of Management and Budget. He holds a Master of Arts in Public Policy Studies from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Arts cum laude from Oberlin College.

Kara Haas

Kara Haas serves as a liaison between the University, Congress and the Executive branch on legislative and regulatory issues of importance to Yale. Prior to joining University in April 2006, Kara worked in the U.S. House of Representatives for nearly twelve years. Most recently, she served as Professional Staff for the House Science Committee, with legislative and oversight responsibilities for the National Science Foundation and math and science education across the federal agencies. Previously, she held legislative staff positions for various members of the U.S. House of Representatives, including Congressman Michael Castle (R-DE), Chairman of the Education Reform Subcommittee, and former Congressman James Greenwood (R-PA). Kara holds a Bachelor of Science in History and Politics from Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
