Yale University’s property insurance covers any accidental damage to University property due to fire, flood, and theft, among other causes. Exclusions and restrictions apply. Property insurance claims are administered by York Risk Services, the University’s third party claims administration company, with oversight provided by the Office of Enterprise Risk Management. Payments for the full amount of the damage to University property will be made by York directly to the department.
Personal property of Yale Faculty, Staff or Students is not covered under the University Property Policy. More information on how personal property can be protected while on campus can be found here. For more information about Personal Property Protection, please contact the Office of Enterprise Risk Management.
A list of resources is available in the menu to the right.
Departments will be charged a deductible of $1,000 per claim. Please note that deductibles will be assessed to the department by the Office of Enterprise Risk Management once the claim has been settled and closed by York.
