General Information about OGCThe Office of the Vice President and General Counsel (OGC) provides legal counsel, representation, and oversight of work on the wide range of legal matters affecting Yale University and its component organizations. Under the leadership of Vice President and General Counsel Dorothy K. Robinson, ten attorneys advise administrators and faculty on legal and regulatory questions related to Yale’s activities, including transactional matters, dispute resolution, and policy formulation. They also represent the interests of the University in administrative and judicial proceedings. Outside counsel may be engaged by the General Counsel to provide additional expertise and representation when appropriate. The OGC also oversees the University’s federal relations, including Congressional liaison, legislative and regulatory analysis and policy advocacy on federal issues affecting the University, under the direction of the Associate Vice President for Federal Relations.
