Susan L. Carney Practice Areas: Susan has been at OGC since 1998, serving as Deputy General Counsel since 2001. Her practice focuses on international affiliations and transactions, research, intellectual property, technology transfer, and compliance. She serves on the International Advisory and Research Compliance Committees, and is a fellow of Silliman College. She served as Acting General Counsel of the University from June through December 2008. Before joining OGC, Susan served as Associate General Counsel of the Peace Corps, in Washington D.C., and practiced law as an associate and a partner with private law firms, also in Washington, representing large nonprofit organizations. Susan was a law clerk for Levin H. Campbell of the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. She received her A.B. from Harvard University, cum laude, in 1973, and her J.D. from Harvard Law School, magna cum laude, in 1977. She is a member of the Massachusetts, District of Columbia, and Connecticut bars, and serves on the Board of Directors of the National Association of College & University Attorneys. |
